Doug’s choice of shirt to wear for the food bank says so much about his character and personality. Thank you for including that detail.

The youth event is a beautifully simple yet powerful way to foster intergenerational connection. It's lovely to hear how your church enables service and participation. Thanks, Patricia, for this uplifting moment/read today.

Thank you, Victoria! One of the things that attracted us to this church was its solidly intergenerational congregation. At one time, all churches were

like that. Today, I think it probably helps to have such intentionality. 💕

So beautiful that even in dementia, you can play an important role in your community and in your church. Beautiful story. Can’t wait for your next post.

Your writing is an eagerly awaited treasure, and it always touches my heart deeply. I loved this combination of memoir and devotion, as I enjoyed the glimpse into your past, was reminded of the many definitions of "service," and it's key role in the church. Thank you for blessing us, dear friend, and God bless you both in your journey.

Growing up, my dad always gave each of us sisters a quarter for the Sunday School offering. I never thought about the implications of so many young ones bringing change that would, of course, have to be counted. These days, parents could set up pre-authorized giving or send an e-transfer. But that would take from instilling a habit of giving.
